May I know which formula to use, many thanks..

P3 2019 final question
A prism has 406 vertices, how many faces does this prism have?

P3 Mock question
A pyramid has 405 vertices, how many edges does this pyramid have?

I wouldn't use a formula. I would just ask myself some questions:

If a prism has 406 vertices, then how many vertices are in each base? How many lateral faces are there? How many total?

And similarly for the pyramid, but with only its one base.

I first worked with the definition.

What is the geometric definition of prism?

"In geometry, a prism is a polyhedron comprising an n-sided polygonal base, a second base which is a translated copy of the first, and n other
faces joining corresponding sides of the two bases. All cross-sections parallel to the bases are translations of the bases."(Wikipedia)
What is the geometric definition of pyramid?

In geometry, a pyramid is a polyhedron formed by connecting a polygonal base and a point, called the apex. Each base edge and apex form a
triangle, called a lateral face. It is a conic solid with polygonal base. A pyramid with an n-sided base has n + 1 vertices, n + 1 faces, and 2n
edges.Wikipedia
