A clock gains two minutes an hour. I set it right on Monday at 9 a.m. When the real time is 9 a.m on Thursday what time will the clock show?
Can someone help?

From 9 A.M. Monday to 9 A.M. Thursday is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, so 3(24)= 72 hours. If the clock "gains two minutes an hour" in 72 hours it will have gained how many minutes? There are 60 minutes in an hour so that is how many hours and minutes gained? So what time will the clock show?

1st hr--- 2min
2nd hr -- 4min = 2*2 min
3rd hr -- 6 min = 2*3 min
4th hr -- 8 min = 2*4 min
5th hr -- 10 min = 2*5 min

See a pattern?
72nd hr --- 2*72 min = 144min. So yes, you are correct!
