Hi,
I using this kind of graph for the first time and found it a bit confusing, how would I complete this question?
The start states that Ali took one minute less than Jon to finish, so I put down 105 first and figured out the first part (34) and then got how much time it took to cycle (35). Then I did 105 - (34+35), which equals 36. How are they the same time if the line is showing that Ali is faster (below the line)?
The answers are
Ali's time: Kayak, 34 Cycle,35. And run, 36

He started the run 1 second behind and finished 1 second behind, so he lost no ground in the run. Yes, they both took the exact same time.

If you are 10 feet ahead of me when we both start walking for 1 mile and in the end I am still 10 feet behind you, then we walked at the exact same pace (on average).
