sir,
as I have said that this is my own difficulty however Ther is a prob which have solved even. Here I give you the statement of the prob
below which I write my difficulty
prob]there are 2 trains moving in opposite directions along parallel tracks
[parallel throughout] from stations "A" in one end & station "B" at another
Theie speeds are in the ratio of 3:4. as each of them reaches their destinations they return back immediately, if at 7th meet they cover
10400 kms find the distance between A&B.
DIFFICULTY:"
i HAVE DRAWN STRAIGHT LINES representing distances( not displacements) of 7x .. for each time they cover 7x in total ( assuming that the entire distance is 7x. Each step is given L1, L2,L3... as designations.
It was found that while they meet 4th time they were travelling in the saame direction[ they actually meet at A [left hand side] at L7
& just after thios step L8 , too they meet in the same direction

CAN WE MATHEMATICALLY PREDICT WHEN WILL THEY MEET IN THE SAME DIRECTION
Regards
Sujoy

At 1st meeting, AB is travelled 1 time.
At each of the remaining 6 meetings, AB is travelled 2 times.
So AB is travelled a total of 13 times: 10400 / 13 = 800 = AB;
this assumes that the 10400 is the combined distances.

Faster train = x, starts at A; other train = y, starts at B:
(numbers in brackets, like (1), are the meeting number)

Ax..................4........................x(1)y................3.............yB

A..............................................y(1)x................................B
A.........2..........y(2)x.........................5...............................B

A.....................x(2)y.........................................................B
A.............................6.................................x(3)y.....1.......B

A................................................................y(3)x..............B
Ay(4)x...................................7.........................................B

It is at the 4th meeting that both trains meet at A.

If you continue above for 3 more meetings, you will see that
the last (7th) meeting is at same place as the 1st meeting.

Hope that helps out.

sujoy, IF you REALLY have problems with English and are not pretending,
may I suggest that you find someone (neighbor, fellow student, whatever)
that knows English, and have your problems checked for errors; if not,
you are only hurting yourself...plus making tutors swear at you!!
