I have no idea how to deal with the real and imaginary components of this eq.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Do you know the equation [MATH]e^{i\theta} = \cos\theta + i\sin\theta[/MATH]? Can you see the real and imaginary part?

Do you understand that exp(θi)=cos(θ)+isin(θ) ?\displaystyle \exp(\theta i)=\cos(\theta)+i\sin(\theta)~?
If so, then (exp(θi))=cos(θ) & (exp(θi))=sin(θ)\displaystyle \Re(\exp(\theta i))=\cos(\theta)~\&~\Im(\exp(\theta i))=\sin(\theta)
