The velocity in kilometers per hour of a car as it beings to slow down is given by the equation v(t) = 90 - 30ln(3t + 1), where t is in seconds.

a) What is the velocity of the car as the driver begins to break?

Well when the driver beings to break t is 0. Therefore, the velocity is 90.

Correct?

b) What is the acceleration of the car?

You have to find the second derivative correct? That I am not sure how to do.

Help would be appreciated...I am trying to teach myself this stuff.

You have to find the second derivative correct? no, the derivative of velocity is acceleration ... acceleration is the second derivative of position
