Instead of posting separate threads for individual questions that pop up, I am going to use this thread. I often have questions about some of the more basic algebraic functions since I am not sure about them. At any rate...

Now I have the fraction ((rad6)/4) - the fraction 1/1 (1, obviously). How do I do this? Can you subtract normal, whole numbers like 1 from a radical? I would guess not. Thanks for the help!

No do not do that .....

Use one thread for one problem. Most of the time, if I have answered a post to my satisfaction - I do not go beck there. Most of the tutors over here also follow similar habit. So if you want prompt answer to your "new" problem - you had better use a new thread.

Yes you can .... some times that type of operation would be necessary in view of the total problem.

for example:

√6/4 - 1 = (√3 - 2√2)/(2√2)

which could be used in some problems. :p:p

Um. You said not to, but I figure someone might answer it and I can't make ANOTHER thread right now. That would be superfluous.

Okay.

((2rad3)/3) x ((rad3)/2)

How do you multiply 2rad3 by rad3?
