Now, do you know the standard formula for area of a triangle? This problem assumes that you do but if you don't it is "1/2 base times height". The problem says "The state of South Carolina is shaped like a triangle . It is 273 miles across the state and 219 miles from top to bottom ." Do you see what that has to do with "base" and "height"?
