I can't seem to get Algebra. Exspecially in this section. On of the equations is this:

y-y1=m(x-x1) y=mx+b

(-4,3) slope: -2

y=mx+b standard form of a straight line
m is the slope, and b the y index

given:
a straight line of slope -2
point [-4,3] on the line

find:
equation of the line

y=mx+b
m=-2 substitute
y=-2x+b
point [-4,3]on the line, or when x=-4,y=3 substitute
3=-2[-4]+b
3=8+b
-5=b substitute

y=-2x-5 answer
