The problem states:

"Both triangles have A as a common corner." - What does that mean? My interpretation from the given figure is that 'C' is the common vertex among ABC and CDE. What is your interpretation.

First, ignore the erroneous statement about a.

For part (a) I would look for a pair of congruent triangles that involve AD and BE. For part (b), I would start by labeling angles in the figure, either with numbers or with variables.
