I got the derivative which was (a-b)/(x-b)^2 but I'm not really sure what to do from there. I understand that if the tan line is parallel at the axis intersection points then it means that derivative would be the same at both of those points, but I'm confused what i need to do.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Plug in the intersection points - this gives you 2 expressions with a and b. Since they are equal you get an equation - solve it for a.
