can you please help me set up these systems

1. Attendance at a concert was 480. The ratio of adults to students was 5 to 3. How many adults attended? How many students attended?

2. A toy manufacturing company makes a doll that sells for $12. It costs $5 in labor to make each doll. The total cost for the materials is $420. How many dolls must they sell to break even?

Hint: if attendance was only 8, there would be 5 adults and 3 students;
if attendance was only 16, there would be 10 adults and 6 students; ......

Hint: after labor, a doll nets $12 - $5 = $7;
the 1st sale reduces the $420 by this $7.....

umm... thanks for the hint, but i need the 2 equations to solve it algebraically

5/8 of 8 = 5
5/8 of 16 = 10
...
5/8 * attendence = # of adults

3/8 of 8 = 3
3/8 of 16 = 6
...
3/8 of attendence = # of students

2. 7x=420

I hope you are blushing.
