need help figuring this one out:
Describe the system 6x-2y=10 and 9x-3y=8 as consistent and independant, consistent and depndant, or inconsistent. Explain.

Hi DEdwards:

You need to solve the system to see what the solution looks like. Is the solution a single pair of xy numbers (x, y)?

Is there no solution at all?

Are there infinite (x, y) pairs that belong to the solution?

AFTER you solve this system and CONSIDER what type of solution it is, then use the DEFINITIONS of the terms (eg: independent, dependent, consistent, inconsistent) to answer the question.

Click HERE for the DEFINITIONS at Dr Math

If you need more help, then please explain why you are stuck. If you have NO IDEA how to solve this system, then please say so; otherwise, please show some work.

Cheers,

~ Mark :)
