Hi, I'm trying to study for my Mid-term, I'm in 12th grade and this equation is confusing me....

nm^3 * (2m^3n^4)^-1 / m

It says that my answer should only contain positive exponents.

So far, I've gotten to here:

nm^3 (1/2m^-3n^-4) / m

Is this correct so far? And can you please explain to me how to continue? Thanks!

First this is not an equation!

nm^3 * (2m^3n^4)^-1 / m

It says that my answer should only contain positive exponents.

nm^3 (1/2m^-3n^-4) / m

Is this correct so far? And can you please explain to me how to continue? Thanks!
If you mean ((1/2)m^{-3}n^{-4})/m, yes, that I correct. Now use the fact, which you appear to already know, that m^-3= 1/m^3 and n^-4= 1/n^4.
