Hello all.
my first post probably not my last. I am asking for help on a maths problem I am stuck with. I feel i can do some of it but i have no idea if I am doing it correctly!! Its mainly how I should show my answer thats bothering me . Also forgive the poor English it is a second language to me.
Thank you in advance for any help. I will post the question and then I will explain what I have in my head as best I can
Novak Djokovic played in tennis matches for a total of 16 hours and 27 minutes to successfully defend his title and win the 2020 Australian Open men’s singles title. He won approximately £2 237 000 in prize money.
Calculate how long Novak played (in minutes) for each pound that he won in this tournament. Give your answer to three significant figures in both ordinary notation and scientific notation.
So i know that he played for 987 minutes as 16x60 add 27 = 987 and i know how much he won as it says in the question. I presumed to work out 1 minute i simply divided the two numbers 4.412159142x10power of -4 but how does it want the answer is my stumbeling block its asked for two answers is that correct ? these are my answers but not sure i was supposed to do two and not sure they both needed sorting to 3 s.f
0.000441 mins per second
4.41 x 10 power minus 4
Calculate how much Novak won (in pounds) for each hour that he played in this tournament. Give your answer to three significant figures in both ordinary notation and scientific notation.
for this i get 136000 pph
1,36x10 power 5
they want gmc so ile have to explain it but just wanted to know if I am on the right tracks
thank you everyone xxx
