Hi bergieD:
These exercises deal with beginning algebra.
Is it really true that you have no experience reading straight-line graphs or working with the equations of lines? If so, then we cannot offer much help here, other than to provide some links to online lessons. (It normally takes 2-3 weeks of classroom instruction and practice, to adequately cover and absorb the xy-coordinate system and various forms of linear equations. Volunteers do not have time to teach classroom material on these boards.)
Do you recall studying xy-coordinates? Does the equation y=mx+b look familiar? This equation is called the "Slope-Intercept form" of a line because it shows both the slope of the line (m) and the y-intercept (b). When your exercises ask for a mathematical formula, they are talking about an equation whose graph is the line.
There is a "Slope formula" for calculating the value of m, using the coordinates of a pair of points from the graph. For example, your Total Revenue Curve is a straight line passing through points with coordinates (0,0) and (4,2000). That's enough info to determine the equation of the line.
If none of this sounds familiar to you, then you ought to check the prerequisites for your course. Let us know, if you desire links to lessons on the xy-coordinate system and equations of lines (or google these topics yourself). Sites like purplemath.com and khanacademy.com teach beginning algebra.
Cheers
