if i wanted to stercth co-ordinates by n parrallel to the x axis then matrix would look like

(n 0)(x)=(x')
(0 1)(y) (y)

so x'=5x

what about if i wanted to parrallel to the line y=1/2x

And what about if i wanted to stretch a pair of co-ordinates parrallel to the line y=1/2x say 5 times parallel to y=1/2x then what x' be and what would y' be given (x',y') are the new co-ordinates
