The pressure in a steam boiler is given to be 90 kgf/cm2\displaystyle 90 \ \text{kgf}/\text{cm}^2. Express this pressure in psi, kPa, atm, and bars.

💪😛

Please show us what you have tried and exactly where you are stuck.

1 atm→1.03323 kgf/cm2\displaystyle 1 \ \text{atm} \rightarrow 1.03323 \ \text{kgf}/\text{cm}^2

Then,

patm=90×11.03323=87.1 atm\displaystyle p_{\text{atm}} = 90 \times \frac{1}{1.03323} = 87.1 \ \text{atm}

1 atm→14.696 psi\displaystyle 1 \ \text{atm} \rightarrow 14.696 \ \text{psi}

Then,

ppsi=87.1×14.696=1280.02 psi\displaystyle p_{\text{psi}} = 87.1 \times 14.696 = 1280.02 \ \text{psi}

1 atm→101.325 kPa\displaystyle 1 \ \text{atm} \rightarrow 101.325\ \text{kPa}

Then,

pkPa=87.1×101.325=8825.41 kPa\displaystyle p_{\text{kPa}} = 87.1 \times 101.325 = 8825.41 \ \text{kPa}

1 atm→1.01325 bar\displaystyle 1 \ \text{atm} \rightarrow 1.01325\ \text{bar}

Then,

pbar=87.1×1.01325=88.25 bar\displaystyle p_{\text{bar}} = 87.1 \times 1.01325 = 88.25 \ \text{bar}
