So to carry on with what I am trying to work out, If the room was 0.8 wide & 0.8 long, I would 0.8 * 0.8 = 0.64 m2 and then 28 / 0.64 = 43.75 to get the 1 m2 price
To test i have got this right, a room 0.8 * 0.8 = 0.64 m2 the carpet layer charges me £17.50 then to get the 1 m2 price it would be 17.50 / 0.64 = 27.34

The room-width is 0.8m
The surface area of the room-floor is 0.64m^2
(Maybe the room is in a doll house?)
