If I were to write a linear equtaion for 2x+3y+z=12 ,
would i just switch the variables around.
Like z=12+2x+3y ?

Thank you so much for your help. :]]

But "2x + 3y + z = 12" already is a linear equation. What do you mean by "writing a linear equation 'for' this"?

Thank you.

Eliz.

The directions are Write the linear equation as a function of x and y.

And the problem that i asked was originally 2x + 3y + z = 12

So would i be wrong by switching them around like I did?

Thanks! :]]

Ah; that's quite a different thing, then. (Instructions are always helpful!)

You were on the right track, but it looks like you lost track of some signs. Check your work, step-by-step. Also, if they're wanting this "as a function of x and y", they may be wanting you to replace "z" with "f(x, y)".

This is my first time on this site and I will definatley come back for any future help/helping.

Thanks again!
