okay that help a little but not a lot. Can u help me on another one like two thrids of a number reduced by 11 is eual to 4 more then the number. Find the number?

This problem can be interpreted two ways:

two thirds of a number - reduced by 11

or

two thirds of - a number reduced by 11

If the number = x

two thirds of a number - reduced by 11 ? 2/3 * x - 11

or

two thirds of - a number reduced by 11 ? 2/3 * (x - 11)
