I have two similar triangles. One has a base of 4 and a height of 7. What is thile base and height of a second similar triangle with an area of 121 square units. ? What am I missing?
Thank you

Hint on your problem: for 2nd triangle, h = 7b/4 ; apply that to the given area.
(h=height, b=base)

Since you haven't shown your work, I'm afraid this is difficult to determine. Sorry!

What is the area of the first triangle? (Hint: A = (1/2)bh, and they gave you the values of b and h.)

What is the area of the second triangle? (Hint: They gave you this value.)

What is the relationship between the areas and dimensions of similar figures? (Hint: Review the topic here.)

Given this relationship, and given the ratios of the two areas, what is the ratios of the dimensions (the bases and heights)?

What then are the values of the base and height of the second triangle?

If you get stuck, please reply showing how far you have gotten. Thank you! :D
