Can you help me?

Sophia uses 3 3/4 cups of flour for each loaf of bread. She has a 10 lb bag that cost 8.79 and contains 152 quarter cups per serving. How many loaves can she make using it all? How much does the flour cost for one loaf?

Is this 10 pound bag supposed to cost $8.79? That is, is it meant in dollars and cents?

First question:

Does "per serving" refer to "for each loaf of bread?" If so, you would need to
know how many 3 3/4 cups of flour are contained in (divide into) 152 quarter
cups of flour.

Second question:

Let x = the cost of flour for one loaf of bread.

You could set up a proportion, such as this:

\(\displaystyle \dfrac{x}{quarter \ \ cups \ \ of \ \ flour \ \ per \ \ loaf} \ = \ \dfrac{cost \ \ of \ \ 10 \ \ lb. \ \ bag}{quarter \ \ cups \ \ of \ \ flour \ \ in \ \ bag}\)

Please show your work/attempts in the posts after any of these suggestions.

I suspect that "contains 152 quarter cups per serving" should be "contains 152 quarter cups per bag". "3 3/4 cups of flour for each loaf" is 3*4+ 3= 15 "quarter cups" (a peculiar measurement). 152/15= 10 and 2/15 loaves of bread. The flour for a single loaf of bread will cost 8.78/(152/15)= 8.78(15)/152= 4.39(15)/76.
