There's another problem I found in the mean time...

"At the movie theater adult admission is 14.50 and children's admision is 5 dollars. One day a total of 2100 adult and children see a movie. 21900$ in fee's were collected. How many adult admissions were collected?"

I set up this table:

Adult x 14.50 14.5x
Child 2100-x 5.00 2100-x(5)

1st column is amount of tickets
2nd column is price of tickets
3rd column is the income frm the tickets.. i think

x stands for tickets

now what am i supposed to do from here?? these mixture money problems are super confusing.

Re: Please Help!!

Well, the main reason they're "super confusing" is YOU make 'em that way

QUIT this silly table set up. And be CLEAR, like this:

Let x = $14.50 tickets ; then 2100-x = $5.00 tickets

So revenue = 14.5x + 5(2100 - x) ; and since revenue is given as $21900, then:
14.5x + 5(2100 - x) = 21900

Take over, Rover...
