[SPLIT] Find interval where tan^(-1)(tan(k)) = k

There's one other part to this question that I'm not 100% sure what to do.

I know that because of the asymptotes the values of x will only work in the range

-PI/2<k<+PI/2.

But I'm not sure about how to answer what happens outside that range. Do I just pick a value at random and calculate the tan and inverse tan of it.

Could you give me an example?
