.75 = ?
.50 = 1/2 ?

Why not use the method explained in the thread onto which you'd tacked your new question...?

Namely, take the decimal, convert it to the equivalent fraction, and simplify:

. . . . .0.5 = five tenths = 5/10 = 1/2

. . . . .0.3 = three tenths = 3/10

. . . . .0.25 = twenty-five one hundredths = 25/100 = 1/4

...and so forth.

Eliz.

Example: 0.375 = what common fraction?

Step 1. Read the decimal fraction without using the word "point". three-hundred seventy-five thousandths.

Step 2. Write what you just said as a common fraction. 375/1000

Step 3. Reduce to lowest terms. \(\displaystyle \frac{375}{1000}=\frac{3 \cdot 5 \cdot 5 \cdot 5}{5\cdot 5\cdot 5\cdot 8}=\frac{3}{8}\)
