Hi TamaraHill,

Just multiply the selling price by the commission rate (.07) to get the realtor's cut (C).

\(\displaystyle C = 168500 \times .07\)

Then, subtract that amount from $168,500 to get the seller's take (S).

\(\displaystyle S=168000-C\)

Edit: Fixed typo (in red above)

Hi TamaraHill,

Just multiply the selling price by the commission rate (.07) to get the realtor's cut (C).

[11795C = 168500 \times .07[/11795]

Then, subtract that amount from $168,000 to get the seller's take (S).

\(\displaystyle S=168000-C\)

156705 <====== This is not correct!

I mis-stated the selling price in my last sentence. Should be $168,500. I fixed it. Now redo your calculation.
