i have a question on a law of cosine problem but I'm not sure how to post anything else but a reply so here it is...

an airplane flies 165 miles from point A in the direction 130 degrees and then travels in the direction 245 degrees for 80 miles. approximately how far is the airplane from A?

Start a new topic - click on the tag "Geometry and Trig" (or whatever subject you are talking about) and at the top you'll see a button "New Topic". Click that and you are all set to post your question and show your work.

For your work - you need to draw a sketch first:

Draw a reference line and on it place a point O - this is your starting point.

Now draw line from O at 130[sup:2039sgbx]o[/sup:2039sgbx] to your reference line. This is the way plane flies on the first segment.

Now continue...

Please show us your work, indicating exactly where you are stuck - so that we know where to begin to help you.

i really have no idea where to start at all.

I gave you a starting point - sketch the situation - tell us what you did find.
