1/2x - 2 = 1/3 (x-2)
Let x = 1st integer; the other integers are x+2, x+4 and x+6 ; since their sum is 340, then:l2991 said:find four consecutive even integers whose sum is 340

For the consecutive question, you should first divide 340 by 4- that will get you the median of the four numbers. Yet, four is an even number, so it will be between the second and the third numbers. 340/4 is 85. Since they have to be even, then the two middle numbers would be 84 and 86. Then, the other two numbers will be 82 and 88. 82+84+86+88 is equal to 340. I know this strategy because my math teacher taught me it (Thanks, Ms. N!!)l2991 said:I have just started college at the age of over 40 so I need some help in understanding how to do this problem.
