I need to solve this equation if i could just get some help on the first few steps please?

I am needing to solve for
P[sub:3p144geh]1[/sub:3p144geh]
y[sub:3p144geh]1[/sub:3p144geh]
v[sub:3p144geh]1[/sub:3p144geh]

really if someone could just help with one I can get the rest :?:

so is the answer simplified to P[sub:3p144geh]1[/sub:3p144geh] going to be P[sub:3p144geh]1[/sub:3p144geh]=P[sub:3p144geh]2[/sub:3p144geh]+y[sub:3p144geh]2[/sub:3p144geh]-y[sub:3p144geh]1[/sub:3p144geh]+v[sub:3p144geh]2[/sub:3p144geh][sup:3p144geh]2[/sup:3p144geh]-v[sub:3p144geh]1[/sub:3p144geh][sup:3p144geh]2[/sup:3p144geh] :?:
are either of these right? that I've listed above?

I need steps please I can't really believe I'm not getting this ...grrr...
so how do I simplify then?
 
Where did the two "1/2" disappear to?

Can you solve this for b:
abc = b + x
 
abc=b+x
/ac=/ac
b=b+x/ac
-b=-b
0=x/ac

b=0 ?

I'm guessing I canceled the 1/2?

hey thanks for trying to help it was very appreciated. I went in and got help. i somehow complicate things all too often when its simple. really i want to say thank you and that i do appreciate you guys all taking the time to help! :D
