Hey Guys, Having some trouble with solving equations i'm 90% there!!

Question:
5 / X+3 = (2-4x / 4x) + 2

Here is what i've got:
LCD 4x(x+3)

20x = 14x+4x^2+6

0=4x^2-6x+6

But now I have no idea how to solve that using the factoring method

(x )(x )

Help please!!

Exact steps are much appreciated.

Hey Guys, Having some trouble with solving equations i'm 90% there!!

Question:
5 / X+3 = (2-4x / 4x) + 2

Is THIS the problem

\(\displaystyle \dfrac{5}{x + 3} = \dfrac{2 - 4x}{4x} + 2 \implies\)

\(\displaystyle \dfrac{5}{x + 3} = \dfrac{2 - 4x + 8x}{4x} = \dfrac{2 + 4x}{4x}.\)

If so, please use parentheses to give the problem correctly. If you do not use PEMDAs, you may get a correct answer to the wrong question.

Here is what i've got:
LCD 4x(x+3) This is fine.

20x = 14x+4x^2+6 So is this.

0=4x^2-6x+6 Use the quadratic formula, which will solve any quadratic whatsoever.

But now I have no idea how to solve that using the factoring method

(x )(x )

Help please!!

Exact steps are much appreciated.
Learn the quadratic formula.

Why is it wrong, Jeff?
Seems correct to me: 2x^2 - 3x + 3 = 0
x = [3 +- SQRT(15)i] / 4

WHO visits the corner:confused:
Uh oh. The old sign problem. Off to the corner where I belong. (I have fixed the original post.)
