I need help understanding my lesson
example: 2x^2 - 10x + 3 = 0
Answer: x= 5/2 +/- √19/ 2
How do you get that answer? Please help me!!

That is a quadratic equation - as you know (you have assigned the title to your post).

What does your textbook say about "solutions of quadratic equation"?
 
If your textbook doesn't teach either completing the square, or the quadratic formula, see here.

If it does teach those things, please show us your attempt at doing what it teaches, so we can see where you need help with it.
