I just can't seem to figure out problems like this:

1) y/6 = -5/4

2) w/8 = -7/6

3) 2x + 4 / 3 = 2x - 4 / 2

Thank you in advance for any help

What have you tried? Where are you stuck?

1) You cross-multiplied (or just multiplied by 6) and... then what?

2) Same as (1).

3) Do you mean "2x + (4/3) = 2x - (4/2)", as you posted? Or did you mean something like "(2x + 4)/3 = (2x - 4)/2"? Or something else?

Thank you.

Eliz.
