i have a wonderful packet to do over the summer... and some of the most simple questions, i'm having trouble with. could you help me solve some of them,
or atleast explain to me how to find the solutions? please and thank you...

1. x+5=1/3*(6x-5) [in this one i need to solve for "x" ]
2. 8-5r/6=3 [in this i need help solving for "r", what do you do with the fraction?]
3. (2a-5)-(4a+6)+(7-2a) [simplify?]

Ah, yes; it is getting to be that time of year again, when the study packets handed out in May are coming due in mid-August, as the new school year starts. It should be noted that the purpose of these packets is generally to allow the student to review and practice throughout the summer, so as not to have forgotten months of material by the time the fall semester rolls around.

Hint: if a + b/x = c, then ax + b = cx (each term multiplied by x) ; kapish?
