Numerically. I see no strictly-algebraic method for solving this.

By the way, I don't care what your book says, the word is spelled "equation".

I believe equations such as this are called "transcendental equations", and can only be solved by graphing. In these days of graphing calculators, this becomes relatively easy to do. My TI-83 says there is only one solution, at x=0.

There is only one solution. Graph the two sides separately. You will see why this is so.

In this case, the solution is sort of staring at you.
