Solve for x in terms of a and b: (x + a) / x = (b + a) / 2b

(x+a)/x = (b+a)/ 2b

start by performing a cross-multiplication ...
2b(x+a) = x(b+a)
distribute both sides ...
2bx + 2ba = xb + xa
get all terms with "x" on one side ...
2ba = xb + xa - 2bx
factor out the "x" ...
2ba = x(b + a - 2b)

can you finish from here?

thanks i got it. Although you can simplify bx - 2bx to just -bx. thanks.
