I will step through this one. That way you can have an idea how to solve the others. OK?.
Solve for s:
\(\displaystyle log(5s-9)=r-1\)
Since it would appear we are working in base 10 logs, take them to a power of ten on both sides:
\(\displaystyle 10^{log(5s-9)}=10^{r-1}\)
On the left, this cancels the 10 and log and we're left with:
\(\displaystyle 5s-9=10^{r-1}\)
Now, finish?. The rest is very basic algebra.
