Would like to know if I have factored this correctly:

6^ *42x =0 With the 6^ I mean 6 squared
This is what I done
12 +42x =0
(x+6) (x+7) = 0
x+6-6=0-6 x+7-7=0-7
x+0=-6 x+0= -7
so x= -6 and x= -7
Can you tell me if I completed all the steps correctly or explain to me what I should do.

12 +42x =0 <-- 6^2 = 36 and where did "+" come from?
(x+6) (x+7) = 0 <-- How is that? If you multiply these out - do you get what you started with?
x+6-6=0-6 x+7-7=0-7
x+0=-6 x+0= -7
so x= -6 and x= -7

Your starting equation does not make sense - please correct it.

"six square" is written as "6^2"

"x square" is written as "6x^2"

"six times x square" is written as "6 * x^2"

Generally, " * " indicates " multiplication ".

I've seen this question THREE times in just a few minutes. DO NOT post the same question multiple times. Dealing with multiple posts of the same question just slows us down.

Considering that the proper formatting was explained quite clearly in this thread, it was discouraging to see that you continued to use your made-up formatting in your various duplicate threads. It's almost as though you don't even read replies that don't give you the fully-worked solution to copy into your homework...?
