find the slope of a line that passes through (2,4) and (-7,8)
slope = 8-4/-7 - 2
my solution is -4/5
am i correct

In the "slope" formula, you have -7 - 2

That is NOT the same thing as -7 - (-2).....

-7 - 2 is the same thing as -7 + (-2).................

To learn about negative numbers, try here.

But if you really don't understand the difference between adding -2 and subtracting -2, then you probably do need some intensive one-on-one assistance. :shock:
