Slope: needing help understanding slope

are you graphing? slope is just rise over run (rise/run) (point slope form is y=mx+b.)the m is the slope, x is the variable, b is the position on the y axis. so if you had y=2x+4, you would put your first point on (0,4) and then go up 2 points and over 1 point (rise over run) treat the 2 like a 2/1x. another example is y=2/3x+2. you would put the first point on (0,2) and then, from there, go up 2 points and over 3 points. negative slope: y=-x+3 you put the point on (0,3) then you will go DOWN one and over one. hope this helps some... if anyone sees an error, please correct me

There are many aspects to slope.

Are you needing to learn how to use the slope formula to find the slope from two points?

Are you needing help with parallel and perpendicular lines?

Are you working with slope as a rate of change?

Are you using slope to graph? Or finding slope from graphs?

Or something else?

We'll be glad to try to find links to lessons for you, but you'll need to narrow your request a bit. Thank you.

Eliz.
