:? k here are the qyuestions i need step by step . u dont have to awnser all of them just the ones u can answer
1>find the x intercept for the equation 6x-y=-12

2. determine the equation of the line w the slope -3 and containg(-7,2)

3. given the following write an equation in standerd form. the line has y-intercept 5 and slope 2.

4. write the equation in standerd form for the line that is perpendicular to the graph of y=5x+1 and has a y-intercept of 4

5.write the equation of the vertical line that contains (-5,-4)

6. find the slope for the equation. x-2y=6

7. for the eqation x-2y=6 is the point (4,-1) on the line?

omgaah! thank u sooo very much if u can help me. :D

6x-y=-12
x itercept occurs when y = 0

6x- 0 = -12
x=-12/6
x=-2

-3 and containg(-7,2)
general form of a straight line is
y= mx + c

2= -3 x (-7) + c
2= -21 + c
23 = c

equation is then as follows
y= -3x + 23

y-intercept 5 and slope 2.
This has the points (0,5) and m=2

do this one as above.....

vertical line that contains (-5,-4)
Vertical line means a straight line x=-5

find the slope for the equation. x-2y=6
rewrite this in the standard form of y= mx+c
x-2y=6
-2y =-x+6
y= (-x+6)/(-2)
y=(1/2)x - 3

slope is (1/2)

x-2y=6 is the point (4,-1) on the line

place the point in the equation and see if the answer is correct
4-2(-1)=6
4+2 = 6
6= 6
correct --the point does lie on the eqn.......

all the best......

Multi-post.

Note to apm: "Summer math" means this was a take-home assignment, meant to help the student study over the summer and be prepared for the new school year. Having the complete worked solutions given to the student to copy, right before school starts (probably tomorrow) might not have been what the school instructor had had in mind.

yea but i did all of them BY MYSELF except those bc i didnt larn those i dont think
If you've never studied these topics, copying solutions is highly unlikely to help you learn what the questions are talking about. How much effort have you put into learning the topics, so you'll be prepared for class this morning?
