Thank you both, and Firemath's walkthrough brought me back to my 9th grade lessons. Thanks!Romsek beat me to it, but they factored it.
[MATH](A1*B1)-(A1*B1*0.93)+(A1*C1)[/MATH]
Take A1 out of all expressions:
[MATH]A1(B1)-A1(B1*0.93)+A1(C1)[/MATH]
[MATH]2A1-A1=A1[/MATH], and [MATH]B1-B1(0.93)=0.07*B1[/MATH], so
[MATH]A1(0.07*B1+C1)[/MATH]
[MATH]2A1-A1=A1[/MATH], and [MATH]B1-B1(0.93)=0.07*B1[/MATH], soRomsek beat me to it, but they factored it.

The question was related to firemath's responseSubhotosh, if your question is for me, it’s that I had a series of odd calculations to do on a purchasing s.s. that involved percentages for one number in a series, not for another, returning the resulting formula, and although it showed the logical path through the calculations, clearly could be simplified. It was just out of curiosity.
I did it so [MATH]-A1[/MATH] would not be a coefficient. The question was related to firemath's response
Please show me - where you had usedI did it so [MATH]-A1[/MATH] would not be a coefficient.
