Hi all,

This kind of problem has come up a few times, and I'm really having touble with it...it starts with forces in a 3D Cartesian plane, if that's any help, but essentially it comes down to:

y=0.45x
AND
x=sqrt(260[sup:133r2b7q]2[/sup:133r2b7q]+610[sup:133r2b7q]2[/sup:133r2b7q]+y[sup:133r2b7q]2[/sup:133r2b7q])

Any help would be awesome : :)

After substituting y = .45x, we get:
x^2 = 439700 + .2025x^2
So what's your problem...or your question?

Thanks, Denis! I just had to solve for x and y, but it was the idea of separating terms under the square root that had me stuck. I'm all good now :D
