Simplifying like terms: x sqrt 18 - 3 sqrt 8x^2

needing help with the following equation to simplify like terms

x square root of 18 - 3 square root of 8x2nd power

Not sure how to show the square root sign after the x and the 3.[/tex][/code]

Show these this way: x sqrt(18) - 3 sqrt(8x^2)

= x sqrt(9 * 2) - 3 sqrt(4x^2 * 2)
= 3x sqrt(2) - 6x sqrt(2)
= - 3x sqrt(2)
