Trying to help my son - his answer is 9/36 is that correct I do not think so. Please explain for my understanding.

Problem: Evan had 4 sandwiches and wanted to share them with 9 people how much will each person get? Draw a model.

Problem: Evan had 4 sandwiches and wanted to share them with 9 people how much will each person get? Draw a model.

That is incorrect.

Let us pretend each sandwich will be divided into 9 sections. Each section will be 1/9 sandwich.

Each person will get a piece from each sandwich - total 4 pieces from 4 sandwiches.

Then each person will get (4 * 1/9 = ) 4/9 sandwiches.
