three teams grade 36 exams in 40 minutes, how many exams will four teams be able to grade in 4 hours?

I know this problem is similar to the last in the setup, but I cannot grasp this concept yet

i think i got it...i found out that 1 team would grade 72 exams in 4 hours, so 4 teams would grade 4 times that amount. 4 teams would grade 288 exams in 4 hours. can you tell me if this is correct?

Yep. You got it.

Let's say 1 job is 36 papers.

We can set it up this way. Since 3 do them in 40 minutes, that is 120 man-minutes.

4 hours is 240 minutes. Multiply by 4 people is 960 man-minutes.

\(\displaystyle 960=120x\)

x=8

Since 1 job is 36 papers, 36*8=288.
