What is the most motivating way to introduce set theory? I am looking at first-year undergraduate students doing mathematics or related subjects such as engineering or physics.

I am also looking for concrete everyday examples that students can relate to.

Hopefully someone else will come along and answer this question in a way that I suspect that you would like.
My response is that set theory (and other branches of math) are beautiful by itself--it doesn't have to be applied to everyday situations. I decided to study math because of how beautiful it is. If someone can apply some math to the actual world I don't have a problem with that, but it doesn't excite me like pure math does.
