I'm building a demographic model and I'm stuck trying to associate data sets. Here's the data I already have:

R (# of people of a certain race in sample)
A (# of people of a certain age group in sample)
G (# of people of a certain gender in sample)
E (# of people of a certain education level in sample)
RA (certain race, certain age)
RG (certain race, certain gender)
RE (certain race, certain education)
AG (certain age, certain gender)
AE (certain age, certain education)
GE (you get the idea)
RAG
RGE
AGE

I am trying to solve for RAGE (# of people of a certain race, age, gender and education). Is this solvable? I feel like it should be but can't arrive at a solution. Thanks for taking a look!

If we know the total number of people in the data set and each person in the data set belongs to at least one of the classes, then we can solve it. It is done by Inclusion–exclusion principle Study the webpage if you know some set theory it helps.

\(\displaystyle T=R+A+G+E-RA-RG-RE-AG-AE-GE+RAG+RGE+AGE-\color{blue}{RAGE}\)

pka, thanks for your response! The problem is that I don't have RAE or the T. Any thoughts? Is it solvable is this case? If not, are there ways to establish parameters?

Are R, A, G, and E all equal? Then they equal T.

Edit. Pay no attention. My mind went off the rails.

Where in the OP did you tell us that?

Thoughts? Yes it cannot be done then.
