Hello esteemed readers! My name is Digby, I am currently nearing the conclusion of a Design Engineering degree, as the title implies i am in search of valuable knowledge. The fruit of this search is desired to be advice on the most efficient method for developing my mathematical understanding.

I have completed two years of University mathematics covering calculus and statistics, and now my mathematical academia is all applied. I had difficulty during first year of pure maths, new concept and missing gaps in my knowledge (which still remain empty) But i passed the courses with minor inconvenience. My mathematical journey down this path stems back to school. I am a dyslexic IQed in the top 5% and I enjoyed very little about school. I was in a lower bracket in the Scottish school math system and achieved the highest grade with no effort (Standard grade/GCSE level). So this is where the gaps in my knowledge begin.

Its hard to convoy exactly what i am looking to achieve, for i don't fully know my self. I intend to dive into programming in the coming decade and desire very deeply to experience intuitive mathematical comprehension of that which my Design Engineering entails.

I have explored the site Kahn academy a little, and found it a little slow and broad in some places. That being said this now is the being of my true quest for that which i seek. What you, knowledgeable and kind reader are implored to do is advice me on the best methods you recommend i apply to make progress, be it books, sites etc.

Once i have an understanding of the best approach, I intend to spend 5-6 hours a week on this endeavour. I would like to to be up to my desired standard within 18 months, wether this may require some intensive weeks along the way, time will tell. All part of the journey i feel blessed to be able to undertake)

Deepest thanks for your time and consideration,

Digby
