Right an expression for the number of circles and the number

I am working on homework with my son and we are trying to figure out the following problem:

Right an expression of the number of circles and the number of triangels, in the "n"th figure, use the expression to find how many circles & triangles are in the "n"th figure.

This is the problem

figure 1 has 1 circle has 3 triangles and 1 circle

figure 2 has 4 triangles and 2 circles

figure 3 has 5 triangles and 3 circles

I would appreciate any help on this, I am stuck!!!!!!!!

figure 2 has 4 triangles and 2 circles

figure 3 has 5 triangles and 3 circles

Clearly seen that number of triangles is 2 more than the figure number,
and number of circles equals the figure number; so:
figure n has n+2 triangles and n circles

Got that?
